Sculptra in Hilliard, OH

Ready to turn back the clock on aging? Sculptra is your secret weapon for a youthful, refreshed appearance. Say hello to smoother skin, fewer wrinkles, and a more vibrant you. It's time to rediscover your natural beauty – the Sculptra way.

How Sculptra Is Different From Filler

The key difference is timing. Hyaluronic acid filler adds volume the moment it’s placed. Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, which works beneath the skin to stimulate your own collagen. The change builds slowly, which many patients like because friends notice they look rested without seeing a sudden difference.

What Sculptra Is Used For

According to its FDA approval documents, Sculptra is approved to correct smile lines (nasolabial folds) and other facial wrinkles, and, since 2023, fine lines and wrinkles in the cheek area. Providers often talk with patients about Sculptra when they notice:

  • Cheeks that look flatter or hollower than they used to
  • Deepening smile lines as the midface loses support
  • Crepey or thinning skin across the cheeks
  • An overall tired or deflated look, rather than one specific feature

Your provider will confirm which areas are appropriate for you at your consultation.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Sculptra tends to suit healthy adults with mild to moderate, gradual volume loss who are comfortable waiting for results and returning for a series of visits. It’s often a good match for people who want to look more like themselves a few years ago, not different.

Another option may fit better if you want an immediate change before an event, if your main concern is one defined feature like the lips or chin, or if you’d prefer a treatment that can be dissolved. In those cases, your provider may recommend hyaluronic acid filler instead, or a combination of both over time.

Your provider may also recommend waiting if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection or inflammation in the area, or have a history of keloids or excessive scarring.

The Sculptra Treatment Timeline

Consultation

Your provider looks at your face as a whole, maps where volume has been lost, and recommends how many sessions and how much product your plan will likely need.

Treatment day

Sculptra is injected in a series of small placements. Treatment usually takes under an hour, and most people go back to normal activities the same day.

The first few days

You may look fuller right away, but most of that is from the liquid the product is mixed with and from swelling. It fades within a few days, so don’t judge your results yet. Your provider may ask you to massage the area at home for several days to help the product settle evenly.

The following weeks

Collagen begins to build gradually. Most plans include a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart, so each one builds on the last.

Months later.

The full effect develops over several months after your final session. According to the manufacturer’s clinical study for cheek wrinkles, improvement was still present at two years in most patients.

Maintenance

Collagen loss continues with age, so many patients plan a maintenance session down the road. Your provider will help you decide when.

Recovery and Side Effects

Most people have mild swelling, tenderness, redness, or bruising at the injection sites for a few days. These usually resolve on their own.

Less often, small bumps or firm spots called papules or nodules can form under the skin, sometimes weeks after treatment. Following your provider’s massage and aftercare instructions helps lower this risk. Contact us if you notice a lump that’s growing, painful, or doesn’t go away.

Sculptra FAQs
How many Sculptra sessions will I need?

Most people need a series of sessions, and the number depends on how much volume has been lost and the change you want. Your provider will recommend a plan at your consultation and adjust it based on how your skin responds.

When will I see results?

Early swelling fades within a few days. After that, change is gradual, with visible improvement building over the weeks after each session and continuing for several months after your last one.

Does Sculptra hurt?

Most people describe it as mild pressure and pinching. Sculptra can be prepared with lidocaine, a numbing medication, to make treatment more comfortable, and your provider can talk you through each step.

Can I combine Sculptra with filler or wrinkle relaxers?

Yes, many treatment plans use more than one option. Sculptra can rebuild overall support while filler refines specific features, and wrinkle relaxers address lines from movement. Your provider will sequence treatments so each one works well with the others.

Is Sculptra permanent?

No. Sculptra results are long-lasting, but your body continues to lose collagen with age, so the effect gradually fades over time. Many patients plan occasional maintenance to keep their results.
