What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are a minimally invasive treatment that can work wonders in rejuvenating your appearance. As we age, our skin loses collagen and hyaluronic acid naturally, leading to the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, and facial volume loss. Dermal fillers are specially formulated injectable gels made from hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxylapatite.

Dermal fillers are skillfully administered by our expert injectors to restore lost volume, sculpt facial contours, and reduce the appearance of lines, giving you a more youthful and refreshed look. At Fade Aesthetics and Wellness, we offer a carefully curated selection of dermal fillers, ensuring that each treatment is customized to address your unique concerns and enhance your natural beauty.

What Would You Like to Change?

Most people come in with a specific area in mind. Here’s how filler can help in the areas we treat most often.

Lips

Filler can add volume, define the lip border, improve balance between the upper and lower lip, or soften fine lines around the mouth. Most first-time patients start subtle and build gradually. Read can lip fillers look natural? for what that looks like.

Cheeks and Midface

As the face loses volume with age, the cheeks can flatten and the lower face can look heavier. Placing filler in the midface restores support and can soften the look of folds below it. See our cheek filler swelling guide for recovery details.

Chin and Jawline

Filler can bring a receding chin forward, improve the side profile, and add definition along the jaw for a more balanced lower face. Here’s what to expect after chin filler.

Lines and Folds

Smile lines around the nose and mouth and marionette lines near the chin can be softened with filler. Often, restoring support in the cheeks helps these lines as much as treating them directly.

Temples and Under-Eye Hollows

Hollow temples or under-eye areas can make you look tired even when you’re rested. These are delicate areas, so your provider will assess carefully whether filler is right for you. Learn more about temple filler.

Adding Volume, Improving Proportion, or Softening Lines

Filler can do different jobs, and knowing which one you need helps you set the right expectations:
Many treatment plans combine more than one of these. Your provider will explain which goals your plan addresses and why.

How We Choose Your Filler?

Fillers differ in how firm, flexible, and long-lasting they are. A soft, flexible gel suits the lips, which move constantly. A firmer gel suits the chin or jawline, where the goal is structure. Choosing the right product for each area is a big part of getting a natural result.

Your provider will recommend a product and amount based on your anatomy, the area, your goals, and how subtle you want the change to be. Dermal fillers at Fade start at $649, and you’ll get an estimate for your plan at your consultation. If you’d like more change over time, it’s often best to build in stages.

Our Approach: Balance Over More

The most natural results come from looking at the whole face, not one feature in isolation. Before treating, your provider studies your proportions from the front and side and talks with you about what you’d like to keep. We’d rather add a little at a follow-up than overfill at the first visit. If filler isn’t the right tool for your concern, we’ll say so and talk through other options, including wrinkle relaxers or Sculptra.

Dermal Fillers vs. Sculptra

Both treatments address volume loss, but they work very differently.

Your Appointment and Recovery

Your visit starts with a consultation about your goals and health history. Once you’re comfortable with the plan, treatment usually takes under an hour, and most people return to normal activities the same day.

You’ll see results right away. It’s normal to have some swelling, tenderness, bruising, or small lumps at first. These usually improve over a few days and continue to settle for two to four weeks, which is when we check your results and adjust if needed.

For the first day or two, follow these steps:

Safety and Who Should Wait

Serious complications are rare, but filler is a medical procedure. The most important risk is filler entering a blood vessel. The FDA advises seeking immediate care for unusual pain, vision changes, or skin that turns white near the injection site. Our providers are trained to recognize and manage these complications, and hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if needed. Read more about how filler can be removed. Dermal Filler FAQs and Aftercare
Does filler hurt?
Most fillers contain lidocaine, a numbing medication, which makes treatment more comfortable as it goes. You’ll feel pressure and some pinching, and the lips tend to be the most sensitive area. Your provider can talk you through each step if you’re nervous.
How much filler will I need?
It depends on the area, how much change you want, and your anatomy. Some areas need less than a full syringe, while others, like the cheeks or jawline, often need more. Your provider will recommend an amount and give you a cost estimate at your consultation.
How far ahead of an event should I get filler?
Plan for at least two to four weeks before a wedding, photos, or a big event. That gives swelling and bruising time to settle and leaves room for a follow-up if you’d like a small adjustment.
What happens when filler wears off?
Your face gradually returns to how it looked before treatment. Filler doesn’t leave you looking worse than before; the added volume or definition fades over time.
Can I get filler and a wrinkle relaxer at the same visit?
Many patients combine treatments, and your provider can tell you whether doing both in one visit makes sense for your plan.
